On a sad note
the boat we use to take so many of the pictures on Kemah.net was lost.
Celebration the 42' Catalina was a huge part of our life. She sank in
the harbor at LYC. It feels like a death in our family.

Kemah, on GalvestonBay,
takes its name for a word meaning “facing the wind.” It is said to be a Karankawa
word. The Karankawa were the indigenous Native American tribe that
inhabited the area. The city's slogan “Breeze into Kemah” was inspired
by the constant Gulf breeze greeting visitors to Kemah. A trip to
Kemah's Lighthouse District, offers a unique shopping and entertainment
